Hey y'all! This is a quick post to let you guys know who I am! Most of you are friends and family but to the newbies and the oldbies who have been hiding under a rock, allow me to introduce myself and my baby, Eviction Notice.
My name is Erica N. Williams and I was born in raised in Saint Louis, MO. I'm 31, mother of a ten year old son and future best selling author. Throughout my life I have made some good decisions (going to college, giving my life to God, watching Underground), some bad decisions ( giving other people undeserved control and influence over me, clubbing all over town, buying a car from Craigslist) and then good decisions based on the bad decisions (giving up party drugs, learning to follow my own thoughts, stop emotional eating).
There was a time in my life that I made bad decision after bad decision followed by a "girl are you crazy?" decision and eventually I ended up depressed. I thought about suicide everyday and I just couldn't do it because of my son. I started killing myself slowly. Drinking every day, from tequila in my coffee to wine with dinner, doing my "party" drugs outside of the party, even running red lights just to end the life I had grown to hate.
Through an encounter with God, I realized that I had more to live for and that the depression, the angst, the worthlessness I felt was because I was ashamed and felt guilty about the mistakes I had made. I let that shame and guilt fester and grow and eventually take control of my life. When God showed me that was the problem, He also showed me the way out. I couldn't help but to think if there were others like me.
So I wrote Eviction Notice. Well, actually God wrote it and He let me put my name on it! This book, blog and empowerment brand will share personal details of my life in hopes that it helps you think about your own life. It provides questions and answer space, prayer guides and even journaling pages to help you evict guilt and shame from your own life or possibly prevent them moving in.
